We frame job descriptions at RTS as a set of problems we want to solve versus a set of requirements. We're a startup, which means we don't have all of the answers today, and like any startup, we don't know the final form of our business yet. Justin TV became Social Cam and then became Twitch - we will go through our own evolution. We do know that our business is going to be talent-focused and then defined by the products and projects we take on with our talent.

First and foremost, we want to hire people who empathize with the problems we want to solve and, secondly, are creative and talented enough to jump on board and try to solve them with us. The Director of Brand Partnerships will be a vital part of the RTS team with the primary responsibility of solving how to generate revenue through multiple channels, including launching integrated partnerships for RTS consumer-facing properties, including Evo.

Problems we would like you to help solve being a Sales Director:

How do you increase revenue opportunities and close partnerships?

  • How would you secure lucrative partnerships/sponsorships for RTS and RTS partner Events (Evo and more)?
  • What new ways can we activate our brand and those of our partners and sponsors by consistently bringing new and fresh ideas to the table that surprise us?
  • How do you negotiate and better assist in executing and fulfilling all sponsor/media agreements?

How would you build deep, trusted relationships/partnerships with sponsorship decision-makers within brands and their agencies to serve their gaming needs?

  • What is your approach to proactively seeking and cultivating new business relationships?
  • How can we leverage our knowledge and relationships with brands and sponsorship agencies to develop additional opportunities?
  • How do you grow and maintain a consistent pulse on the cultural landscape (metaverse, gaming, esports, web3, NFT's Blockchain); understand what is relevant, trending, and upcoming?

How can you work with the VP of Sales and RTS management on long and short-term strategic partnership and sponsorship planning, P&L management, and sales strategy calendar?

  • What best ways to collaborate and update RTS management and key stakeholders on new trends and sales opportunities?
  • What is the best process for building, refining, updating, and maintaining a pipeline of prospects; establish and building effective relationships with brand advertisers and agencies?
  • How can you keep ahead of the curve and bring new ideas to RTS?


The director of partnerships will initiate, develop, and close sponsorship deals that integrate experiential marketing, extended media and promotions, and content. This individual should have experience collaborating across multiple teams and have a network of executive-level relationships on both the brand and agency sides. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovative, fast-growing team.

  • Experience in selling innovative brand integrations
  • Have a significant rolodex of key media agencies and brand direct contacts
  • A hunter's mentality and experience closing sales and generating revenue
  • 5+ years of B2B sales experience
  • 3+ digital sponsorship sales experience specific to gaming, esports, sports, OTT, and audio.
  • Strong storytelling abilities, with a focus on data and insights
  • Demonstrated ability to perform well in a highly dynamic, rapidly changing environment
  • Ability to interact with a broad set of businesses and work with both agency and client direct
  • Sales agency experience is a plus
  • Video game industry experience is a plus
